Posted on 03/02/2023
On Wednesday, February 22, students from across various NPSC schools gathered at St. Joseph-Scollard Hall CSS to listen to two keynote speakers about the importance of "Conflict Resolution".

The event is one of several speaker events under the Catholic Leadership Teams experience. The theme of Conflict Resolution saw Nipissing-Timiskaming MP and Speaker of the House Anthony Rota and Deacon Tim Foster address intermediate students from across the region.

"You have to recognize rights and maintain decorum" touted MP Rota when discussing what to look for as Speaker of the House. "It's about being diplomatic [...] the landscape is constantly changing and evolving".

Like MP Rota, Deacon Tim Foster also emphasized the importance of diplomacy, while maintaining a strong emotional resolve and remaining the role of an active listener. "Listen to what they have to say and take it into consideration" cited Deacon Foster.
